Who are the top digital marketing companies in St. Louis? If you need leads from search, ads and a website that converts — and you want to know the price before a sales call — the short list starts with Insite Advice, the company publishing this page. We’re a full-service, owner-led team on The Hill — SEO, ads, social, content, email and websites — working month to month with prices on our website, for clients from local practices to BJC HealthCare, Washington University and World Wide Technology. If you need a large creative department, a PR arm or an enterprise web build, three other companies on this list will fit you better, and I’ll tell you exactly which ones and why. “Company” and “agency” mean the same thing in this market — what separates the top firms isn’t the word they use, it’s whether they publish pricing, who does the work, and whether you keep your own accounts if you leave.
By Alex Wolk, founder of Insite Advice · Last reviewed: November 1, 2026Disclosure first: I’m Alex Wolk, and I’ve owned Insite Advice since 2002. My agency is listed first, and I’d rather say so than pretend this list is neutral. Every fact about every other agency below comes from that agency’s own website or a public business listing, linked next to it, and I’ve tried to describe competitors the way I’d want them to describe us. For plenty of buyers, one of them will be a better fit than we are, and I’ll say which.

“Not published” doesn’t mean a company is hiding something — quoting after a call is the industry norm. It does mean you can’t compare costs until you’ve taken ten sales calls. We publish ours so you don’t have to.
This is a companion to our list of the best St. Louis SEO companies. That list is about search specialists. This one covers agencies that run several digital channels together: paid search and paid social, SEO, websites, content and email.
How I scored these companies in October 2026
I run one of the companies on this list, so I won’t pretend to be a neutral reviewer. Instead, here’s the exact scorecard I used, so you can re-rank these firms for your own situation:
- Can you see the price first? (Yes/No) I checked each company’s own website on October 20, 2026. Only one of the ten publishes what its services cost. Everyone else quotes after a discovery call.
- Can you leave? Whether the site states contract length and that you own your ad accounts, analytics and website. Stated terms beat verbal promises.
- Who actually does the work? Named team on the site, and whether the owner or a junior account rep runs your account.
- Proof tied to real businesses. Named clients and case studies with outcomes, not anonymous percentages.
- A real St. Louis address. A street address in the metro, published on the company’s own site — not a virtual office or a national firm’s city landing page.
Ratings change weekly and reward whoever asks hardest, so I don’t rank on stars. The transparency scorecard above is the part of this page you won’t find anywhere else, because it’s checked by hand, company by company.

How to choose the right agency for you
Match the agency to your situation first — a local service business, a mid-market company and a national brand need three different kinds of firms — then run the same seven tests on every finalist: start with your channels, ask who does the work, understand the billing, keep your accounts in your name, insist on reporting that shows calls and leads, know the exit, and be skeptical of guarantees.
I wrote a full guide that walks through each test, the ten questions to ask on the first call, and what St. Louis agencies actually charge: How to Choose a Marketing Agency in St. Louis.
St. Louis digital marketing agency FAQ
Is there a difference between a digital marketing company and a digital marketing agency in St. Louis?
No. Local firms use “company,” “agency” and “firm” interchangeably, and Google treats the terms the same way. Judge the things that actually differ: whether pricing is published, the size of the team that will run your account, contract length, and who owns your ad accounts and data.
How much do top digital marketing companies in St. Louis charge?
Most won’t tell you until after a discovery call. Of the ten companies on this list, only Insite Advice publishes ranges: SEO and local SEO at $1,500–$3,500 a month, paid ad management at 15% of ad spend with a $500 monthly minimum, and websites at $2,000–$3,000. Large brand and creative agencies typically work on project or retainer budgets well above small-business levels.
How many Google reviews should a top St. Louis marketing company have?
Look at rating and count together, and at how recent the reviews are. A 5.0 rating on a handful of reviews means less than a 4.8 on fifty. For context, Insite Advice sits at 5.0 stars from 40 Google reviews as of November 2026 — mid-pack on count for this list, which is exactly why this page ranks on published pricing and terms instead of review volume.
Should I hire the biggest company on this list or a smaller one?
Pick by who runs your account, not by headcount. A 125-person creative firm is the right call for a national brand campaign; it’s usually the wrong call for a local business that needs its phone to ring, because you’ll be a small account in a big system. Smaller, owner-led companies trade breadth for direct access — decide which of those you actually need.
How fast will a new digital marketing company show results?
Paid search and paid social can produce leads within days of launch. SEO and Google Business Profile work compounds over three to six months. Any company promising a #1 ranking or a fixed cost per lead on a set date is telling you what you want to hear — ask instead what they’ll report, how often, and what happens if it isn’t working.
The bottom line
St. Louis has strong options at every size. For traditional full-service advertising, call Cannonball. For a search-first shop with paid social and email, Digital Strike. For PR plus digital, Elasticity. For an enterprise website, SteadyRain. For brand-first work, Atomicdust, HLK or Paradowski.
If you’re a St. Louis business that wants SEO, ads and your website handled by a small team with published pricing, month-to-month terms and the owner reading your numbers, that’s what Insite Advice is built for.
