INSITE ADVICE

Ready to take your business to the next level?

Insite Advice is a St. Louis digital marketing and web design company that prides itself on delivering measurable results. Whether you need a brand-new website, a website redesign, or a complete digital marketing strategy, we have the expertise to make it happen.

INSITE ADVICE provides ongoing website maintenance and hosting for businesses across the St. Louis metro. Maintenance is $100 per month. Hosting is $35 per month. They’re priced separately, so you can buy either one on its own.

Maintenance covers security monitoring, software and plugin updates, daily backups, and regular content changes. Hosting runs on servers we manage and maintain ourselves rather than reselling someone else’s support queue.

We maintain sites we didn’t build. We work on WordPress and on other platforms. And we host a number of sites for clients who use us for nothing else.

Plans run month to month with no long-term contract. Design and development work sits outside maintenance and is quoted separately at $150 per hour.

What’s Included in Website Maintenance

Daily backups

Your site is backed up automatically every 24 hours on our servers. A backup is only useful if someone can actually restore from it, so restoration is part of the service, not a separate project.

Security monitoring

We run Wordfence on WordPress sites for firewall protection and malware scanning, backed by monitoring at the server level. Wordfence alerts us to intrusion attempts regularly — most of them automated, most originating outside the country. That’s normal for any site on the public internet. What matters is that someone is watching the alerts and acting on them, which in our case means Lee and Mark on the site side and Alex on the server side.

Software and plugin updates

WordPress core, plugins, and themes are updated as releases come out rather than on a fixed calendar. Security patches get applied when they’re published, not at the end of the month.

Content updates

Most plans include around four pages of content updates per month — text changes, new images, updated hours, staff changes, a new service added to a list. The exact allowance depends on the plan and how much your site actually changes.

Someone who answers

Lee Kreutzman and Mark Laschober are the account managers who handle the website side of maintenance day to day — updates, content changes, and the alerts that come in when something looks off. Alex Wolk maintains the servers. You’ll know who you’re emailing.

What’s Not Included

Being clear about this up front saves everyone a conversation later.

  • Hosting is a separate $35/month service. You can maintain your site with us and host it anywhere you like.
  • Migration from your current host is a separate project.
  • Malware cleanup, in some circumstances — see below.
  • Design and development work — restyling pages, new templates, added functionality. $150 per hour, quoted in advance.

Website Hosting in St. Louis

We manage our own servers and handle the configuration, monitoring, and server-side maintenance in house. Alex Wolk maintains them directly. You are not filing a ticket with a hosting company’s overseas support queue and hoping someone gets to it.

Hosting is $35 per month, separate from maintenance. Three arrangements are all normal here:

  • Hosting only. Some clients host with us and buy nothing else.
  • Maintenance only. Some clients keep their existing host and use us for maintenance.
  • Both. The arrangement where we can respond fastest when something goes wrong, because we control the whole stack.

Moving an existing site onto our servers is a separate project, quoted before we start. Every site we migrate gets scanned before it goes live — see below for why that matters.

Maintenance Plans and Pricing

Our pricing is flat. There are no tiers to decode and no quote required to find out whether we’re in your range.

Service Monthly
Website maintenance $100
Website hosting $35
Both $135
Design or development work $150/hour, quoted in advance

Maintenance and hosting are sold separately. Take one, the other, or both.

Every plan is month to month. No annual contract, no cancellation penalty, no setup fee.

What Happens When Something Breaks

During business hours: you’ll usually hear from Lee or Mark within the hour. Same business day at the outside, if they need to coordinate internally before giving you a real answer.

After hours and weekends: our standard commitment is a response the next business morning. In practice, most of our team monitors email in the evening, and a site that’s down or compromised gets attention when we see it rather than waiting for morning. We’d rather tell you the honest version than advertise 24/7 support we don’t formally staff.

If your site is hacked, cleanup depends on the situation:

  • We host it and the breach is on us — cleanup is included. No separate invoice.
  • The breach isn’t our responsibility — for example, a compromised credential on your end, or a site we maintain but don’t host — cleanup is billed.
  • You’re coming to us after a hack elsewhere — cleanup is part of the migration project and billed accordingly.

We’ll Maintain a Site We Didn’t Build

Most people looking for website maintenance already have a website. Often they’re looking because whoever built it stopped answering.

We take those on, WordPress or otherwise. You don’t need to rebuild on our preferred stack to get support.

Before any migrated site goes live on our servers, we scan it. More than once we’ve found backdoors still active on sites a previous provider had already declared clean — access left in place after a “cleanup” that removed the visible symptom and not the entry point. If your site was hacked before and someone else fixed it, that’s worth checking regardless of who you hire.

Website Maintenance FAQs

How much does website maintenance cost in St. Louis?

Website maintenance with INSITE ADVICE is $100 per month. Hosting, if you want it, is an additional $35 per month, for $135 combined. Both are month to month with no contract. Design and development work is billed separately at $150 per hour.

Do I have to host with you to get maintenance?

No. Plenty of our maintenance clients host elsewhere. If you do host with us, server-level problems get resolved faster because Alex manages those servers in house.

Can you maintain a website another agency built?

Yes, and it’s a common request. We’ll review the site first so we know what we’re taking on — including scanning for anything left behind by a previous compromise — and then bring it onto a plan.

Do you only work on WordPress?

No. WordPress is our primary platform and where our tooling is deepest, but we support other platforms too. Tell us what you’re running and we’ll tell you honestly whether we’re the right fit.

How often do you back up my site?

Every 24 hours, automatically. Restoring from a backup is part of your plan, not a billable emergency.

What if my site gets hacked?

It depends on who’s responsible. If we host your site and the breach is on us, cleanup is included. Otherwise it’s billed as separate work, and we’ll tell you which situation you’re in before we start.

What counts as an included content update, and what gets billed?

If you’re changing what a page says, that’s a content update and it’s covered — new copy, a swapped photo, updated hours, a staff change. If you’re changing how a page looks or works — restyling colors or layout, a new template, adding a form or booking tool — that’s design and development at $150 per hour, quoted before any work starts.

A useful test: if the page would still be laid out the same way afterward, it’s almost certainly included.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Plans are month to month. There’s no annual contract and no cancellation fee.

Can’t I just run the updates myself?

You can, and some businesses do it fine. The reason people hire it out isn’t the clicking — it’s that plugin updates occasionally break a page, security patches don’t wait for a convenient week, and nobody notices a site is down at 11pm on a Saturday unless something is watching it. Maintenance is mostly about the weeks when nothing happens.

Is maintenance the same as a website redesign?

No, and it’s worth being precise about the difference. Maintenance keeps a working site working — updates, security, backups, small content changes. A website redesign rebuilds a site that no longer does its job. If your site is slow, dated, or not converting, maintenance won’t fix that. If your site is fine and you just need someone responsible for it, you don’t need a redesign.
