The official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party has announced that the recent allegations of Chinese-based hacks were politically motivated to start disputes with the United States.
Google came out last week saying that hackers from the Shandong province of Eastern China tried to compromise the Gmail accounts of some senior US officials. The attempted hackings were said to have been attempts to trick the officials to disclose their passwords.
The accusation of attacks is just the latest in a series of statements from Google and China. The rift between Google and China has been expanding ever since the company refused to censor certain search results in China.
